Is the VI Peel™️ safe during pregnancy?

While the VI Peel™️ is suitable for all skin types, we do not perform the peel on pregnant women, and we would highly recommend contacting your PCP for approval if you are breastfeeding.

What is the VI Peel™️ Treatment Like?

The VI Peel™ is a quick and painless treatment that is performed in our aesthetic room by one of our aesthetic nurse experts. This service requires no pre-treatment, and you can be in and out in 20 minutes. Prior to arrival, please keep your skin clean by wearing no makeup or moisturizers.

Upon arrival, you will complete our quick check-in questionnaire and then our aesthetic nurse expert will call you to the treatment room and explain the process to you. First, your skin will be cleansed, then the peel will be applied topically via a series of cotton balls and towelettes.

As the chemical begins to work, your skin may feel warm or tingly – please note that sensation is completely normal and will fade as the application continues.

The VI Peel™️ takes roughly 15-20 minutes to complete, but you must keep the chemical peel for at least four hours prior to washing your face.

Is there really no recovery? What do I do when I get home?

While there is no recovery required after the VI Peel™️, be prepared to avoid the sun and wear no make-up for seven days after the peel. You will be given the appropriate peel towelettes to continue the peel at home, along with post-peel protectant cream, and specific instructions on application times and frequency.

Peeling starts one to two days after your office visit and lasts about two to three days. We will provide you with your post-peel kit and guide you through your aftercare instructions. We recommend that you avoid touching or pulling on your facial skin as it goes through the peeling process, even if it is a bit itchy.

For best results, we recommend that you avoid skin-exfoliating products such as retinols or glycolic acid for two weeks after the peel. If possible, please avoid long exposure to direct sunlight.
